Our volunteers are the HEART of the club. Without each person giving us their time freely we could not support so many families in Cork.

WE NEED MORE

The availability of an adequate number of volunteers is absolutely critical to the operation of our Club. We are very fortunate in having some excellent volunteers who do unstinting work in supporting our members as they undertake various activities. Our volunteers are always enthusiastic and we know from their feedback that they find their involvement very rewarding.

Our Club seeks to have a minimum ratio of one volunteer to six members so we are always looking for additional volunteers.

The Club welcomes volunteers from any member of the community who has an interest in working with young people with a devolpmental disability. Volunteers may be students who have an interest in Social Work, Youth/Sports Clubs, Social or Psychological studies or simply people who want to help out and become mentors to our members. Pur volunteers start as young as 13 and we welcome Gaisce transition year students every year.

All volunteers recieve induction training and go through garda vetting prior to commencing.

Volunteering an hour or two a week or fourth nightly will lead to the most rewarding experience; meeting and supporting our fantastic children who really thrive with the right support.

We are ALWAYS looking for new volunteers to come onboard, with Jack & Friends Centre opening soon, we are currently running a volunteer recruitment drive so please contact Claire at Bandonautism@gmail.com for more details!

Why become a Volunteer?
Be part of something REWARDING, seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter and watching the growth of every child you help achieve their full potential in a FUN and EXCITING environment. Gain EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE of additional needs.

We endeavour to provide opportunities of growth for all our volunteers by arranging courses and workshops. Recently our volunteers attended a certified course on Autism in Sports run by Cara Centre in conjunction with Cork City partnership.
